Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, Directing the respondent to give permission to the petitioner to conduct a Cultural program schedule to be held on 08.06.2015 in Shri Mahasakthi Mariamman Temple at Mel Street Pakudupattu Post Thumbal Via Attur Taluk Salem District by considering the petitioner representation dated 01.06.2015.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner claims that he is the resident of Mail Street, Pakudupattu Post, Thumbal Via, Attur Taluk, Salem District and there exists an ancient temple viz., "Shri Mahasakthi Mariamman Temple", and the presiding deity is worshiped by the villagers nearby and a decision has been taken to conduct the temple festival on 08.06.2015 and in connection with the temple festival, song, dance and other cultural programs are sought to be organized and in this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation/application dated 01.06.2015 to the respondent and since he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.
4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.
5. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, this Court, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 01.06.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 06.06.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.
