The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents not to put the petitioner's son Mani @ Manikandan @ Murder Mani in solitary confinement and direct the respondents to put the petitioner's son in common cell like every other prisoner, who is confined in central prison Puducherry.

Now, almost four years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so adviced.
