ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town, Chennai, to dispose of the case expeditiously in C.C.No.158 of 2015 pending on the file of the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate George Town, Chennai, within stipulate time as maybe fixed by this Court.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that case in C.C.No.158 of 2015 was posted for judgment on 07.04.2022. Thereafter, the case was adjourned to several dates from 07.04.2022 to 11.08.2022 for pronouncing judgment. Suddenly, the case information system reads that case is pending from 30.08.2022 for arguments. Arguments had been already completed. It is not known why the case in C.C.No.158 of 2015 is posted for arguments. The case was already reserved for pronouncing judgment. Therefore, this petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that the trial in this case is over and arguments were also completed. 2/6

4.Considered the rival submissions and perused the records. 5.In the light of submission of learned counsel appearing for the parties and the details furnished through case information system it could be seen that this case was pending for pronouncement of judgment from 07.04.2022 to 11.08.2022. The case was adjourned to the following dates for pronouncement of judgment:- 13.04.2022, 20.04.2022, 27.04.2022, 11.05.2022, 18.05.2022 30.05.2022, 06.06.2022, 13.06.2022, 20.06.2022, 30.06.2022 07.07.2022, 14.07.2022, 28.07.2022, 04.08.2022, 11.08.2022 Thereafter, the case was again posted for arguments from 23.08.2022 and adjourned to following dates:- 30.08.2022, 13.09.2022, 20.09.2022, 28.09.2022, 12.10.2022, 19.10.2022 6.This Court does not understand why a case which was reserved for judgment had to be again posted for arguments. Therefore, the learned XVI 3/6

Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, is directed to complete the arguments immediately and pronouncement of judgment within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 7.With the above direction and observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
