O R D E R

The prayer in the present writ petition is for a direction to the 2nd respondent to appoint the petitioner as Village Assistant for Periyakannalapatty Village, Thirupathur Taluk and District based on the petitioner's representation dated 25.02.2023.

2. The ground on which such a prayer has been sought for is that the petitioner had applied for the post of Village Assistant pursuant to the notification dated 10.10.2022 and in spite of having participated in the selection process, he has not been appointed.

3. The 2nd respondent herein have filed a counter affidavit in which it is stated that in the selection process, the petitioner was awarded with 57 marks, whereas one Chandru has been awarded with 89 marks and therefore, they have declared Chandru as successful candidate and appointed him to the said post. When the petitioner has failed to reach the zone of consideration and the person who have scored higher marks have been appointed, the claim of the petitioner does not require consideration.
