By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the president of the festival committee of Sri Veerapathiransamy Temple at Kamakapalayam, Authoor Taluk, Salem District. He has submitted a representation on 29.05.2015 to the 2nd respondent seeking permission to conduct cultural programme, which includes song and dance programme, on date of temple festival on 20.06.2015 between 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and though it was received and acknowledged by the 2nd respondent, so far he has not been favoured with any response. Hence, he has come forward with this writ petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would, on instructions, submit that while conducting the temple festival, cultural and dance programme will be performed and there will not be any vulgarity or obscenity and the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner.

4.Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, the learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondents, would submit that within a specified time the application/representation of the petitioner will be considered and disposed of.

5. Though the petitioner prayed for a positive direction, this court, taking note of the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 29.05.2015 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders on the same on or before 17.06.2015 and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
