ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 13.03.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 341, 294(b), 392, 397 and 506(ii) of I.P.C. in Crime No.63 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner attempted to commit robbery on the defacto complainant. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is not involved in the above alleged offence and he is no way connected with the offence as alleged by the prosecution and he did not commit any offence. Further he submits that the petitioner is in judicial custody from 13.03.2020 and hence, he seeks bail for the petitioner.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that there are two previous cases pending against the petitioner similar in nature. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.
5. It seems that the petitioner attempted to commit robbery on the defacto complainant. He has bad antecedents and involved in two other similar cases. Now the Government of Tamil Nadu is in lock down due to Covid-19 virus. Therefore, if the lock down lifted, there will be a chance for more these kind of crimes, since the individual income is suffered due to lock down. Therefore, if the petitioner is let out on bail there is a huge possibility for increasing the similar kind of crimes.
6. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and the previous bad antecedents of the petitioner and also the fact that the investigation is pending, this court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.
