ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to grant permission and provide protection to conduct cultural function Aadal - Padal in the event of Vaigasi Fire Walk Festival at Arulmigu Sree Throupadhi Amman Temple, Mullukurichi, Senthurai Taluk, Ariyalur District scheduled to be held on 25.05.2017, based on the petitioner's representation dated 06.05.2017.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 06.05.2017 to the respondents, seeking permission to conduct cultural function in the event of Vaigasi Fire Walk Festival at Arulmigu Sree Throupadhai Amman https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Temple, scheduled to be held on 25.05.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed by the respondents. Hence, this petition.

3. Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "Aadal - Padal programme", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has raised no serious objection.

4. In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.05.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra in the event of Vaigasi Fire Walk Festival at Arulmigu Sree Throupadhi Amman Temple, Mullukurichi, Senthurai Taluk, Ariyalur District scheduled to be held on 25.05.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "cultural function".
