ORDER

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a

direction against the respondent namely the Director General of Police to examine and pass order on the revision petition dated 12.11.2024 and the representation given by the petitioner on 20.01.2025 within a specific time period.

2. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that the petitioner was working as Head Constable at T4, Maduravoyal Police Station (Crime Branch). A complaint had been received against him and a charge memo had been issued. An enquiry was conducted. Punishment of postponement of increment for one year which shall not operate to postpone future increments in the post. Thereafter, the petitioner had filed an appeal. In the appeal, a modification was made and the order of compulsory retirement was passed. Questioning that particular order, the petitioner had filed a revision before the respondent on 12.11.2024.

3. Heard the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent.

4. The respondent may examine the facts and circumstances surrounding the nature of charge alleged against the petitioner and also the enquiry report

and the evidence submitted during the course of enquiry. He may also examine whether the modification of punishment to compulsory retirement was proportionate to the nature of charges levelled and thereafter pass appropriate orders. The orders may be passed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
