Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to pay the petitioner, the death gratuity and other terminal benefits payable to the petitioner on the death of her husband late Dr.R.Chandrasekan, worked as Workshop Superintendent in Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry, together with interest at the rate of 12% from 27.09.2012 to till date of payment within stipulated period.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking direction to the first respondent to pay her the terminal benefits payable to her on the death of her husband together with interest from 27.09.2012 to till date of payment. 2.The case of the petitioner is that her husband worked as Workshop Superintendent in Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry and died on 27.09.2012 while he was in service. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Thereafter, the petitioner made representation to the respondents seeking to pay her the terminal benefits payable to her on the death of her husband and since there was no response, has come forward to file this writ petition. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the first respondent has issued office order dated 22.11.2013 in favour of the petitioner. Hence, there are no reasons for denial of the petitioner's claim, however, the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2013 and the reminder dated 10.10.2015 are kept pending without any reason. 4.In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2013 and the reminder dated 10.10.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and in the light of the office order dated 22.11.2013 issued by the first respondent, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
