The criminal original petition is filed for a direction to the 2nd respondent Police, i.e., the Inspector of Police, Perumanallur Police Station, Tiruppur, not to harass the petitioner on frivolous complaint. 2.
The case of the petitioner is that he is a running a banian company and doing business under the name and style ' S.P. Tex'. According to him, except two cases in Crime No. 583 of 2024 for offences under Sections 294(b), 115(1) and 351(3) of BNS and Crime No. 273 of 2023 for offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 324, 506(i), 379 IPC pending before the 2nd respondent, there are no other cases. While so, according to the petitioner, the 2nd respondent, under the guise of enquiry, is often visiting his house at odd hours, causing inconvenience to him and his family members. The representation given in this regard did not evoke any response. Hence, the present petition.

The petitioner is a History Sheeter, with HS No. 393/24. Due to the forthcoming General Elections, the whereabouts of the petitioner had to be ascertained and therefore, the petitioner was called for verification. This cannot be termed as harassment.
