Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the dance programme which is scheduled to be held on 13.6.2015 at Sri Kaliyamman Temple Thammampatti Post Salem District based on petitioners representation dt 29.5.2015.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the organizer of the Temple festival in connection with Sri Kaliyamman Temple, situated at 7th Ward in Thammampatti, Salem District and he submitted a representation/application dated 29.05.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct song, dance and other cultural programs on 13.06.2015, in connection with the temple festival and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

5. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer

sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, this Court, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 29.05.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 11.06.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.
