ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to remove the unauthorised construction and encroachments made by the 4th respondent in Government Water Body comprised in S.No.155/1 situated in Madavilagam Village, Poovirunthavalli Taluk, Thiruvallur District.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner, in support of the prayer made in the writ petition, drew our attention to the copy of the 'A' Register annexed along with the typed set of papers, wherein it is mentioned that the land in S.No.155/1 situated in Madavilagam Village, Poovirunthavalli Taluk, Thiruvallur District, has been classified as 'Kulam', a water body.

3. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, submits that the land in question is classified as Kulam and any encroachment made thereupon shall be removed, and sought for four week's time.

4. Recording the said submission of learned State Government Pleader, the writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent and the concerned Block Development Officer, to conduct a survey, and if any encroachment is found, issue notice to the encroachers and remove the same. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There will be no order as to costs. (T.R., ACJ.)
