The petitioners apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Section 498A, 406 of IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act, in Crime No.6 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant had lodged a complaint stating that on 02.02.2024 with various allegations for dowry demand and other acts of cruelties alleged to have been done by the petitioners on various dates from the date of her marriage i.e., on 05.02.2023 along with A1, A4 and A5 and to direct the respondent police to retrieve her gold ornaments and her household articles lying in the petitioner's house. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are an innocent person and they have not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution. The petitioner have been falsely implicated in this case. However, on instructions, the learned counsel further submits that the petitioners are ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the 1/3

petitionesr.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioners along with other accused have demanded dowry from the petitioner and committed cruelties as against the defacto complainant and further, considering the gravity of offence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Considering the representations made by both sides and considering the nature of offences charged against the petitioner and considering the fact that the dispute is between the parties and these petitioners are only in-laws of the defacto complainant and also considering already interim anticipatory bail was granted and based on the direction of this Court, first accused is also present before this Court. The interim anticipatory bail already granted by this Court to the petitioners on 14.06.2024 is made absolute.
