Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India seeking Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to provide police protection during the period from 26.03.2019 to 10.04.2019 for conduct the Panguni Thiruvizha at Vinayagar, Mariamman and Kariamalimman Temples at Nathamedu, Padaveedu Village, Komarapalayam Taluk, Namakkal District to be conducted under the supervision of Joint Commissioner H.R. & C.E Department, Salem.

For Petitioner : Mr.A.Periyasamy For Respondent : Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking police protection during the period from 26.03.2019 to 10.04.2019 for conduct of the Panguni Thiruvizha at Vinayagar, Mariamman and Kariamalimman Temples at Nathamedu, Padaveedu Village, Komarapalayam Taluk, Namakkal District, and under the supervision of Joint Commissioner H.R. & C.E Department, Salem. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the representation to the respondent was sent only on 20.03.2019 by registered post at 23.05 hours from Chennai. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.Heard both sides.

4.On perusal of records, it is seen that the petitioner is residing at Namakkal, whereas the representation is sent from Chennai through speed post at about 23.05 hours and immediately thereafter, this writ petition has been filed. It shows that only to file the writ petition, the said representation was sent from Chennai and has immediately approached this Court. 5.Under these circumstances, the prayer sought for by the petitioner in this petition cannot be considered as the writ petition is devoid of merits. Accordingly, this Writ Petition Stands dismissed.

No costs.

Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
