Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 herein to remove the encroachments caused by the respondents 3 to 5 in the water channel (Odai) in S.Nos.153/1 and 159/3 situated at

Senthanadu Village, Ulundurpet Taluk, Kallakurichi District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2023. For the Petitioner : Mr.C.Munusamy For the Respondents : Mr.K.Karthik Jegannath Government Advocate for R1 and R2

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.C.Munusamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Karthik Jegannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 and 2.

2. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the Tahsildar conducted survey and the subject writ lands are found to be waterbodies. 14 encroachments have been noticed, including the petitioner, on the subject writ lands.

3. Learned State Government further submits that steps, in accordance with law, for removal of the encroachments would be commenced within a period of three months from today.

4. In the light of that, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs.
