Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent herein to forthwith return the Passport bearing No.J4041137 dated 03.02.2011 to the petitioner herein.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the first respondent to forthwith return the passport bearing No. J4041137 to the petitioner.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the first respondent under the guise of conducting an enquiry in the month of February, 2012, asked the petitioner to leave the subject matter passport in his custody by assuring that the same will be returned to him after verification.

3. Now, the grievance of the petitioner is that even after a period of six years, the first respondent has not returned the passport without having any valid reason. Therefore, the present writ petition is filed with the relief as stated supra. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. Learned counsel for the first respondent, based on instruction submitted that the passport of the petitioner will be returned without any further delay.

5. The said statement is recorded and the writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to return the passport to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is no other legal impediment for him to return the passport.
