Omkar Clean Energy Services Pvt Ltd v. Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. And 3 Others

A.No.1921 of 2021 in C.S.No.225 of 2020 DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.

This application has been filed to amend the first defendant name in the plaint to the effect of adding the word "Limited" in the end of the name "Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company." The second amendment sought through this application is to amend the name of the second defendant from "JLT Independent Insurance Brokers Private Limited" to "JLT Independent Consultancy Services Private Limited."

2.According to the learned counsel for the applicant, the omission of the word 'Limited' while describing the first defendant was due to inadvertence and the description of the second defendant as "JLT Independent Insurance Brokers Private Limited" was made without knowing the fact that the second defendant has changed its name as "JLT Consultancy Services Private Limited", which the plaintiff came to know after the second defendant filed its counter. 3.Taking note of the above submission and the consent of the respective defendants, the amendment application is allowed.

4.The Registry is directed to carry out necessary amendment in the Civil Suit and the applicant/plaintiff is directed to file a clean copy of the plaint and application.

Post the matter on 30.06.2021.
