ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by THE HON'BLE CHIEF JUSTICE) The petitioner filed this Public Interest Litigation in the year 2010 seeking directions to fill up the vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board/third respondent as it was affecting the efficiency of the organisation.

2.Learned Counsel appearing for third respondent, states that there were vacancies existing on account of Service Rules not being finalised. These Service Rules were finalised in November, 2010, whereafter vacancies have been filled up as per the revised Service Rules. She also states that this process of appointment was assailed in the Courts; but, the private respondents 4 to 13 did not succeed in the same, an aspect confirmed by the learned Counsel representing the private respondents.

3.In view of the vacancies having been filled up, as submitted by the learned Counsel for third respondent, the said statement is taken on record and the writ petition is disposed of as having become infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected MP is closed.
