Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorari calling for the records of the 1st respondent in connection with the impugned order passed by him in PR.No.20/G1/2009 U/R 3(b) dated 10.12.2011 and confirmed by the 2nd respondent in Rc No.B1/15958/2009; Appeal No.05/2008 dated 01.02.2012 and quash the same.

Heard both sides. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent of both the parties the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner is a Head Constable in the Police Department. He was imposed with the punishment by the disciplinary authority. The punishment was reduction in time scale of pay by two stages for a period of two years and the period of reduction shall operate to postpone his future increments. The petitioner preferred appeal to the Appellate Authority. The Appellate Authority also rejected the appeal by an order dated 01.02.2012.

3.Against the rejection of the appeal, the petitioner states that he filed Review Application to the third respondent, the Head of the Department on 29.03.2012. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash the punishment order dated 10.12.2011 and the order of the Appellate Authority dated 01.02.2012. 4.At the time of hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the third respondent to dispose of the Review Application dated 29.03.2012 within a stipulated period.

5.In view of the limited prayed made, the writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent to dispose of the Review Application of the petitioner dated 29.03.2012, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
