ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for the following relief: "calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order disqualification slip issued in CVV, PMT and ET dated 30.01.2026 by the third Respondent and quash the same as illegal arbitrary and unconstitutional and consequently direct the respondents to conduct a fresh physical Measurement test to the petitioner (Enrolment No.5701265) for the post of Joint Recruitment of Grade II Police Constable, Grade II Jail Warder and Fireman pursuant to the recruitment notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board for the year 2025 and consequently permit the petitioners to participate in the further stages of selection."

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner successfully passed the written examination conducted by the respondents for the recruitment of Grade II Police Constable, Grade II Jail Warder and Fireman for the year 2025. During Physical Measurement Test, her height was measured as 156.5 cms and she was

disqualified. Aggrieved petitioner preferred an appeal and even in that appeal measurement, her height was recorded as 156 cms, whereas, the Civil Medical Board measured her height as 157 cms. Therefore, aggrieved petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the rival submissions made by the learned counsel and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner seeks to quash the disqualification slip on the ground that when her measurement was taken by Civil Medical Board, her height was measured as 157 cms, whereas, the respondents have shown her height as 156.5 cms. The records would show that after the initial physical measurement, an appeal was preferred by the petitioner and she was once again re-measured and her height was shown as 156 cms. The requirement sought for the said posts is 157 cms even considering the fact the petitioner belongs to the SC category. Therefore, the petitioner falls short of 1 cm. It is clear that the petitioner's request for re-measurement has also been considered by the respondents and at which point in time, the petitioner had not qualified. Therefore, I see no reason to once again direct the respondents to measure physically as the entire recruitment process has been concluded.

Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs. 23-03-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order ssa
