Mr.R.Elango, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner has applied for employment on compassionate appointment on the demise of his father, who was an employee of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board as a Field Assistant under the control of the respondent. The father of the petitioner had died on 28.04.2014, while he was in service. The said application for appointment on compassionate grounds was forwarded to the Chief Engineer and the same was communicated to him by letter dated 12.06.2020, that his application will be considered after getting opinion from the Chief Engineer. However, no order has been passed. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, a direction is given to the respondent to consider the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

request of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
