ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to remove the petitioner's name from the History Sheet No. H.S.No.01 of 2012 dated 12.01.2012 on the file of 4th respondent herein based on the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2024.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was branded as history sheeter and for removal of the same, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents Police on 01.03.2024, however the same was not considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, it would suffice, if the 4th respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 01.03.2024 and pass appropriate Page No.2 of 5
orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 01.03.2024 in terms of 747 and 748 of Police Standing Orders and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
