O R D E R

The petitioner was dismissed from service based on conviction in a criminal case. On appeal, this Court vide judgment dated 07.01.2015 in Criminal Appeal No.789 of 2007 quashed the conviction and sentence imposed by the Trial Court. Thereafter, the petitioner made a representation dated 17.04.2015 to the first respondent to reinstate him in service, in view of his acquittal.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner sought to quash the dismissal order dated 21.08.2007, the leraned counsel on instructions submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied in case a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider his representation dated 17.04.2015 in the light of the judgment dated 07.01.2015.

In view of the limited prayer now made, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.04.2015 on merits and as per law and in the light of the judgment dated 07.01.2015 passed in Criminal Appeal No.789 of 2007, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
