Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondent to consider teh Petitioner's representation dated 16.05.2011 and dispose of the same within a time frame.

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.05.2011 in spite of his notional promotion on par with his junior.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the writ petitioner has joined in Chennai Police as Police Constable and subsequently, promoted to the post of Sub Inspector of Police. However, his promotion on par with his immediate junior was not considered on account of the pendency of the criminal case. Subsequently, the criminal case ended with an order of acquittal and therefore, the departmental disciplinary proceedings were also dropped. Under these circumstances, the writ petitioner submitted a representation to the respondent on 16.05.2011 and the same is yet to be considered. 3.Thus, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 16.05.2011 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. is directed to enclose the copy of the representation and the documents along with the order passed in this writ petition. 4.Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
