O R D E R

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct cultural Programs, in the event of Sri Gangaiamman Temple festival at Melarasampattu Road, Odugathur, Velur Taluk, Velur District, scheduled to be held on 30.05.2017 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.05.2017.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 12.05.2017 to the respondents, seeking permission to cultural Programs, in the event of Sri Gangaiamman Temple festival at Melarasampattu Road, Odugathur, Velur Taluk, Velur District, scheduled to be held on 30.05.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed by the respondents. Hence, this petition.

3. Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "Adal Padal Programs", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has raised no serious objection.

4. In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.05.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct

Orchestra, in the event of Sri Gangaiamman Temple festival at Melarasampattu Road, Odugathur, Velur Taluk, Velur District, scheduled to be held on 30.05.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi/dance programme".
