ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. It is seen that this petitioner is facing very serious threat to his life inasmuch as there were attempts on his life by a gang inimical to him. In connection with the two attacks, the police have registered two cases in Crime Nos.140 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and 594 of 2016 for various offences inclusive of the offences under the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, inasmuch as there was a bomb attack on the petitioner's car. Therefore, the petitioner has sent a representation by post to various authorities seeking police protection.

4. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to go in person and give a fresh representation to the Superintendent of Police, Kanchipuram District, and on such representation being given, the same shall be enquired into, in the light of the provisions of the Police Standing Orders and action taken in accordance with law expeditiously. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
