ORDER
By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mrs.M.E.Rani Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the 2rd respondent.
The petitioner, at present, is working as a Cashier in the Block Development Office, Gudiyatham. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that the 1st respondent has passed an order on 09.12.2015 promoting persons similarly placed like that of the petitioner as Assistants and whereas, the claim of the petitioner for promotion to the said post, so far unjustly been overlooked. The petitioner, in this regard, has submitted a representation dated 26.10.2016 to the 1st respondent to include his name in the panel for promotion to the post of Assistant and thereafter, promote him to the said post, and in spite of receipt and acknowledgment of the said representation, the petitioner's rightful claim has been overlooked so far and hence, the petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner ; Mrs.M.E.Rani Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 2nd respondent. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, either in his representation or in this writ petition, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 26.10.2016 submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice, the person/s concerned and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the person/s concerned.
The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
