By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioners 1 and 2 claim to be the elected Ward Members of Periya Sevalai Village Panchayat. The 3rd petitioner claiming to be the resident of the said village would allege that the 5th respondent being the elected President of the said village Panchayat has misappropriated the public funds and though, it was brought to the knowledge of the 1st respondent in the form of the representation, who in turn directed the 3rd respondent to conduct an enquiry, nothing has happened so far, and hence came forward to file this writ petition.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioners has drawn the attention of this Court to the notice dated 09.10.2014 issued by the 3rd respondent and would submit that based on the complaint, an enquiry was conducted on 15.10.2014 and petitioners 1 and 2 had appeared and produced all documents and thereafter, no progress took place and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.
4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.S.V.Durai Solaimalai, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for respondents 1 to 4.
5. Though, the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioners, directs the 1st respondent to take into consideration the complaint given by the petitioners 1 and 2 strictly, on merits and in accordance with law and take appropriate action after putting the 5th respondent on notice and pass orders as expeditiously as possible and not later than six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and inform the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the 5th respondent.
