ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the third respondent in his proceedings in K.A.No.320/NI.PI.2/VU.2/KO.ONA/2018 dated 17.12.2018, thereby rejected the request made for appointment on compassionate ground.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner's father was employed as Line Inspector in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. He suffered mental illness and his whereabouts were not known from the year 1994. Therefore, he was unable to report to duty. Thereafter, he was found alive and treatment was given to him. On clinical analysis, it was diagonized that he was suffering from Chronic Schizophrenia

(mental illness). By that time, he had crossed his age of superannuation. After considering his mental illness, he was permitted to retire from service with effect from 29.02.2004. He was settled with all terminal benefits and now, he is receiving pension. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment was rightly rejected by the third respondent, when his father was allowed to retire from service and he is receiving pension from the respondents.

4. Therefore, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the third respondent and this writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
