Heard Mr.S.Balasubramanian, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Rajeswaran, learned Special Government Pleader, accepting notice on behalf of the respondents. With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.
2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking
for a direction to the third respondent to consider and pass suitable orders on his representation dated 22.06.2015 for payment towards the additional work done by him for the "Amma Unavakam"
near Thiruvathipuram Municipal Market, 3.The petitioner is a Contractor, whose services were engaged by the respondents, for the additional construction work done in the "Amma Unavakam" near Thiruvathipuram Municipal Market, Thiruvathipuram. The petitioner would state that though the work has been completed fully to the satisfaction of the authorities, his bills are not been settled. In this regard, the petitioner has made representations dated 22.06.2015 and 31.03.2016 which have been acknowledged by the respondents 1 and
2. Further, the Municipality had awarded the work in favour of the petitioner, pursuant to a resolution passed on 12.09.2014. Since his representations are still pending, the petitioner is before this Court.
4.In the light of the same, there will be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If there is no dispute as regards the claim made by the petitioner, then appropriate directions may be issued for settling the petitioner's bills.
5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
