Heard Mr.G.Vasudevan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Varunkumar, learned Standing Counsel accepting notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the second respondent to dispose of his representation dated 17.02.2016 seeking waiver of the arrears of electricity charges in respect of H.T. Service Connection No.59.

3.The petitioner is engaged in the business of Iron and Steel and their business operations have been stopped due to labour problem. Though the petitioner seeks for waiver of arrears of electricity charges, in respect of their service connection, which is High Tension Service Connection No.59, the learned counsel for the respondents submitted that when such applications are being filed in genuine cases, the respondent TANGEDCO requires permission from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission, for considering such waiver claims. 4.In any event, the representation made by the petitioner to the second respondent is yet to considered, and therefore, there will be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2016, and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
