O R D E R

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.05.2017.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner states that the second respondent, who is working as a driver with a employee No.1186 in the first respondent corporation, does not possess any valid driving license and the first respondent without verifying the same, allowed the second respondent to drive the public vehicle which is injurious to the public in general.

3. Thus the writ petitioner made a representation to the first respondent on 29.05.2017, for the purpose of initiating action in this regard against the second respondent.

4. It is needless to state that no driver can be allowed to drive the vehicle without possessing a valid and effective driving licence, the same is also an offence. Moreso, the first respondent, being the state transport corporation, is duty bound to verify the driving license of the drivers working under the corporation.

5. However, without going into the merits and demerits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 29.05.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
