The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on her representation dated 06.11.2017, whereby the petitioner sought for a transfer from Government Namakkal Head Quarters Hospital, Namakkal, to Pudukottai Primary Health Centre.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that initially, the petitioner was appointed as Staff Nurse in the Government Primary Health Centre, Parthibanur, Paramakudi, Namakkal District, on 05.03.2007. Before her appointment, she was married to one Mr.Velmurugan in the year 2005. It is also stated that she is having two school going children. Since her husband settled at his native place with his parents and children, she has been visiting them from her working place i.e. Namakkal, which is more 500 km. from Thoothudi. Therefore, she has made a representation dated 06.11.2017 seeking for a transfer to Pudukottai Primary Health Centre or any other Government Hospital in Thoothukudi District. However, till date, the respondent has not disposed of the said representation. Therefore, he pleaded, a direction may be given to the respondents to pass orders on the pending representation of the petitioner.
3. Mr.V.Jeyaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, by accepting notice for the respondents, seeks 8 weeks time to pass orders on the pending representation of the petitioner.
4. In view of the narrow prayer made by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the pending representation dated 06.11.2017 of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
