3 The Director General of Police Dr.Radhakrishnan Salai Mylapore, Chennai 4 [RESPONDENTS] Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of certiorari to call for the records of the first respondent in connection with the impugned order passed by him in PR No.19/G1/2009 dt 10.12.2011 and confirmed by the 2nd respondent in RC No.B1/15958/2008 Appeal No.06/2012 dt 1.2.2012 and quash the same.

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition for quashing the order passed by the first respondent dated 10.12.2011 and confirmed by the second respondent in the Appeal in the Appeal No.06/2012 dated 1.2.2012.

3.The petitioner was imposed with the punishment of reduction of time scale of pay by two stages for two years with cumulative effect and the same was also confirmed by the appellate authority. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has also filed a Revision Petition on 29.3.2012, before the third respondent. 4.Though the prayer in the writ petition is for quashing the order of punishment imposed on the petitioner, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the third respondent to dispose of the Revision Petition, within a stipulated period. 5.In view of the limited scope of the prayer now made, the Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to pass appropriate orders on the Revision Petition filed by the petitioner on 29.3.2012 and communicate the same to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
