ORDER
This is a petition filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to take appropriate action to conduct the deity procession of Arulmighu Pushpagiri Eshwarar Temple, Poondi Village on the occasion of 10th day of Arudhra Urchavam held in Tamil month of Margazhi to the Savadi Street and Ponniamman Temple Street pursuant to the proceedings of the fourth respondent dated 16.4.2024.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate accepting notice for respondents 1 and 5, the learned Government
Advocate (Criminal Side) accepting notice for the second respondent and the learned Additional Government Pleader (HR & CE) accepting notice for respondents 3 and 4.
3. The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to bring the deity for procession through a particular route. Further, for this year, the so called Arudhra Darshanam festival was already over. If at all anything is to be considered, it will be only for the ensuing Arudhra Darshanam festival. It is also seen that based on the report of the Executive Officer, already the fourth respondent recorded that a decision would be taken in the general body meeting of the Village Panchayat, Poondi.
4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to approach the fourth respondent with a fresh request. On receipt of such a request, the fourth respondent shall consider the grievance of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks for the ensuing Arudhra Darshanam festival.
