Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of certiorarifed mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of a writ, calling for the records of the respondents pertaining to proceedings in Na Ka No.4293/2014/ku dated 18.02.2015 and quash the same and consequently forbear the respondent from bringing the trees in 40.00 hectares in V.Mathur lake by public action without getting prior concurrence and giving first preference to the V.Mathur Panchayat for purchasing the trees as per the price fixed by the Forest Department, in view of G.O.M.S.No.260, Forest and Fisheries Department dated 09.03.1984.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the writ petition was filed by the President of V.Mathur Village Panchayat, challenging the order passed by the respondent in Na Ka No.4293/2014/Ku dated 18.02.2015, insofar as item No.4 of Thindivanam Forest Range for 40.00 hectares in V.Mathur Lake and quash the same. He further submitted that there is a change of guard in the V.Mathur Village Panchayat and the present President is not interested in prosecuting the writ petition. Recording the same, the writ petition is dismissed as not pressed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
