The order of rejection passed by the first respondent in proceedings dated 13.11.2013 rejecting the claim of the writ petitioner to provide financial assistance under the 'Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme', is under challenge in the present writ petition.

2. The petitioner states that she belongs to Most Backward Community and studied upto XII Standard.

3. The Government announced a Scheme in the name of Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme'. Under the said Scheme, the eligible persons are entitled to get a sum of Rs.10,000/- for marriage. The said amount was enhanced from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.25,000/- subsequently and the condition under the said Scheme is that

the member should have passed or failed in the SSLC in the Regular Course or he/she should pass in the Private Study in the SSLC, the object of the Scheme is to encourage and provide education to girls in the State and therefore, in the event of complying with the condition, the benefit will be extended under the said Scheme.

4. In the present case, the order impugned reveals that the petitioner was found not qualified since she dis-continued IX Standard. Since the petitioner has discontinued IX Standard and thereafter, privately appeared and completed the X Standard, the Authorities found that the petitioner had not complied with the conditions stipulated under the Scheme.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents, brought to the notice of this Court that the said Scheme is not in force as of now and therefore further consideration cannot be granted.

6. This being the factum, this Court do not find any infirmity in respect of the order passed by the Competent Authorities.

7. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. 24-03-2023 Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No Speaking order/Non-Speaking order Svn
