The Commissioner of Police Chennai Police, Chennai 600 008 ..Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus calling for the entire records relating to petitioner's brother detention under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 vide detention order dated 01.12.2014 on the file of the 2nd respondent herein made in proceedings No.2045/2014 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the said petitioner's brother namely Jothilingam, son of Narayanaswami, aged 53 years, before this Court and set the petitioner's brother at liberty from detention, now petitioner's brother detained at Central Prison-II, Puzhal, Chennai 600 066.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.TAMILVANAN, J.) The petitioner, who is brother of the detenu herein, viz., Jothilingam, son of Narayanaswami, aged 53 years, has come https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the second respondent dated 01.12.2014 against his brother branding him as a "Goonda" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Piracy Act 1982 [Act 14 of 1982]. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the brother of the petitioner herein dated 01.12.2014 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.1099, Home, Prohibition & Excise [XIII] Department dated 16.02.2015 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.

3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is closed as the same has become infructuous.
