Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for
issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to regularise the service of the petitioners with effect from the date of their initial appointment and fix the regular scale of pay as fixed for the post Watchman, Night Watchman, Sweeper, Office Assistant and other posts under the Tamil Nadu Basic Service Rules.

This writ petition is filed for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to regularise the service of the petitioners with effect from the date of their initial appointment and fix the regular scale of pay as fixed for the post Watchman, Night Watchman, Sweeper, Office Assistant and other posts under the Tamil Nadu Basic Service Rules. Eventhough the prayer sought in the writ petition is for a larger relief, when the matter is taken up, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners would be satisifed if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation dated 24.01.2017 submitted by the petitioners with regard to their regularisation.

However, the learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that no such representation was received by the respondents. 4.
In view of the limited relief now sought and taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to submit one more representation to the 1st respondent, afresh, along with a copy of this order and on receipt of such representation, the 1st respondent shall dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
