ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest by the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 75 & 351(3) of BNS Act, in Crime No.49 of 2026 registered on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 10.02.2026 at about 04.30 p.m., during the temple festival, a wordy quarrel arose between the parties. During the quarrel, A1/petitioner abused the defacto complainant's son in filthy language. When the defacto complainant questioned the same, A1/petitioner abused her in filthy language, caught hold of her hair and assaulted her. A2 also threatened the defacto complainant with a knife. Hence, the present case. Hence a case has been registered against the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that he is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation in this case is pending. Hence, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side.

6. Considering the nature of allegations projected against the petitioner and the societal impact upon the release of the petitioner on anticipatory bail, this Court is not inclined to grant any order in his favour. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
