This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 1st respondent to process and consider the petitioner's application for compassionate appointment, as approved by the 2nd respondent on 19.04.2022 and pursuant to the representation dated 08.12.2025 of the petitioner. "
2. The case of the petitioner is that his mother R.Suguna was working as a Typist in the respondent department. The petitioner would submit that his mother died on 14.02.2020 and on 03.06.2020, the petitioner made an application for compassionate appointment, enclosing requisite documents and certificates. On 19.04.2022, the documents submitted by the petitioner was verified by the 2nd respondent office. Thereafter, no action has been taken on the request for compassionate appointment. Therefore, the petitioner is before this 2/5
Court.
3. Heard the learned counsels on the either side and perused the records.
4. A perusal of the record would show that despite the petitioner making representation for compassionate appointment within a months of death of his mother, the same has not been considered to date. It is stated that the 2nd respondent has forwarded the proposal to the 1st respondent who has been sitting over the same. Therefore, directions are issued to the 1st respondent to pass orders on the request for compassionate appointment within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
