The petitioner, claiming to be an Advocate, seeks a mandamus directing the first respondent/The District Collector/Election Officer, Mayiladurai District to surrender certain amounts that he claims, have been seized from him.

2. The entirety of the affidavit proceeds on factual allegations, all of which require in-depth enquiry. The petitioner's familiarity with the law is also apparent from the fact that he has moved this Court with a Criminal Original Petition and obtained orders in certain other matters which he has cited in the writ affidavit. The connection between those matters and the present Writ Petition is unknown.

3. In the above circumstances, this Writ Petition does not inspire the confidence of the Court in regard to its maintainability and hence is dismissed in limine.
