Heard Mr.M.Rajendran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.R.Dhilip Kumar, learned Standing Counsel, accepting notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.The petitioners seek for a Mandamus to direct the third respondent to provide electricity service connection to the respective petitioner's houses at Ponniyamman Nagar, Keel Ayanambakkam.
3.Admittedly, the petitioners are encroachers of the Government land and it appears that the classification of the land is also a Water Body. If that is the case, the petitioners do not have any vested right to seek for electricity service connection. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this writ petition, cannot be granted. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, this will not prevent the petitioners from pursuing their representation before the third respondent. No costs.
