O R D E R
The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the Respondents to grant adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members residing at Arulagam, No.498 & 500, Kutchery Road, Tiruchengode, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu - 637 211 on the basis of the representation dated 13.03.2023.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner used to receive money from the villagers for interest and then used to lend money for third parties for higher interest. Due to Covid-19 situation, persons who borrowed money from the petitioner did not repay the money. That resulted in petitioner not paying the money to some persons.
The following persons are the persons from whom, petitioner borrowed money:
1. Ganesan
2. Udhayakumar
3. Akil Kumar
4. Sakthivel
5. Ramamoorthy
6. Saravanan
7. Palaniappan
3. The above mentioned persons started giving trouble to the petitioner by trespassing into the house of the petitioner and threatened him by demanding money. On 12.03.2023, they kidnapped the petitioner and after seven days, they released him. Petitioner gave a representation dated 13.03.2023 seeking police protection. However, till now, no order is passed, necessitating the filing of this petition.
4. In response, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner, enquiry is
pending in C.S.R.No.125 of 2023.
5. In the light of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Court directs the respondent police to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders in the manner known to law.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
