Respondents in both WPs Common Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents more particularly first respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 22.11.2017 and pass order by regularizing her service in the post of Sweeper and Scavenger respectively.

COMMON ORDER By way of filing these writ petitions, the petitioners seek for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent / the Secretary, School Education Department, Chennai, to dispose of their pending representations dated 22.11.2017.
2. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioners that though the petitioners have been continuously working for more than 27 years in the respondent department, their services till now have not been regularized. Therefore, they have made a representation dated 22.11.2017 seeking for regularization of their services, but, the said representation has not been disposed of by them till now. Hence, he pleaded, a direction may be issued to the respondents to pass orders on the pending representation of the petitioners.
3. Mr.V.Jeyaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, by accepting notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2, sought for six weeks time to pass orders on the pending representation of the petitioners.
4. In view of the narrow prayer of the petitioners, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the pending representations of the petitioners on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this direction, the writ petitions are disposed of. No Costs.
