ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by Ms.D.Sumathi seeking a mandamus to direct the second respondent to accord new metro water connection at No.38/9, Joseph Street, Kannigapuram, Chennai 600 012.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondents.
3. The petitioner is residing at Door No.38/9, Joseph Street, Kannigapuram, Chennai, which originally belonged to her grandmother Mrs.Ranganayaki Ammal and after her demise, the said property devolved on her. By order dated 5.10.2012 passed in I.A.No.3488 of 2012 in O.S.No.3087 of 2007 on the file of learned XII Assistant Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai, the petitioner was permitted to carry out repair and renovation work in respect of sewerage connection in the above said property. However, as there is no metro water connection to her property, finding no response to her https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
representations, she came to this Court by filing W.P.No.13001 of 2014 seeking a direction to pass appropriate orders on her representation and this Court, by order dated 20.3.2015, directed the authorities to pass appropriate orders. But again she is not able to get the metro water connection, therefore, she is once again before this Court.
4. Today, the learned counsel for the respondents submitted that only after getting appropriate permission from the Commissioner, Corporation of Chennai with regard to the digging of road, the metro water connection can be effected to the petitioner's house, for which he sought for four weeks time.
5. This Court, considering the fact that the petitioner has already come to this Court with the aforementioned writ petition, hereby grants two weeks time from the date of receipt of a copy of this order to the second respondent to effect the metro water connection and the petitioner, in the meanwhile, shall pay all the requisite charges therefor. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
