Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 03/06/2015 and to grant permission to the petitioner in order to conduct the cultural and adventure programme and to give police protection which is schedule to be held on 12.06.2015 in Sri Mariamman Temple situated at Yelagiri Village Bakritakka Post Tirupattur Taluk Vellore District-635853.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Dharmakartha of Sri Mariamman Temple, situated at Yelagiri Village, Bakritakka Post, Tirupattur Taluk, Vellore District.

He submitted a representation/application dated 03.06.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program on 12.06.2015, in connection with the temple festival, which includes song and dance programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.Dig Vijaya Pandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 03.06.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 11.06.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.

6. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
