ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.68 of 2019 pending on the file of the respondent and to file the final report expeditiously.
2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, on 04.02.2019 around 7.30 P.M., petitioner was driving his two wheeler TVS Scooty bearing registration No.TN 06 L 0826 alone in Peters Road Royapettah Hospital flyover. While he was nearing Bharat Scan a speeding two wheeler unknown vehicle was hit and met with an accident and subsequently he got severe injuries and his leg was totally severed and took treatment in Royapettah Government Hospital with the help of one auto driver. number of the accused vehicle. Thereafter, the case was registered in Crime No.68 of 2019, for the offences under sections 279 and 338 IPC and Sections 134(a), 134(b) and 187 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Further, the respondent took up the investigation and no effective steps have been taken to trace out the accused vehicle.
4.Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, this Court inclined to direct the respondent police to seize the CCTV footage, and on the basis of CCTV footage, to conduct proper enquiry and file a final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above observation, this Criminal Original petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is also closed.
