This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the F.I.R. in Crime No.1058 of 2020 dated 27.06.2020 on the file of the respondentPolice. 1/4

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent-Police, on instructions, submitted that on completion of investigation in Crime No.1058 of 2020, the respondent-Police has closed the case as 'Further Action Dropped'. Thereafter, the closure report was filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate-I, Mayiladuthurai on 29.12.2020. Hence, the prayer sought for in this petition has become infructuous.
3. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition and hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
