Mr.P.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner was working as Special Sub-Inspector of Police and he suffered punishment of stoppage of increment for two years with cumulative effect vide G.O. (2D) No.876, Home Department, dated 31.12.2007. Therefore, he preferred an appeal before the first respondent on 23.05.2008. According to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner, in spite of his representation / reminder dated 03.07.2013, appeal petition is still pending. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the limited prayer, without going to the merits of the case, a direction is given to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, if it is not disposed of earlier, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
